CEU Tracker.org by the Numbers: A Look at Our Growing Community
It was three years ago, in June 2023, when I decided to build a website to track my CEUs. Like many professionals, I had grown frustrated with managing everything in an Excel spreadsheet. What started as a personal project quickly became something much bigger.
During the summer of 2023, I spent countless hours sketching ideas, designing workflows, and testing early prototypes. After several rounds of refinement, CEU Tracker.org officially launched on October 28, 2023. I was the very first member to sign up, and I still remember how satisfying it felt to add my three licenses and begin tracking my CEUs in a system designed specifically for that purpose.
Fast forward two years and eight months, and CEU Tracker.org has grown far beyond what I originally imagined. Today, we have over a thousand members, with an average of two new members joining every day.
I know our CEU Tracker isn't perfect, and I recognize that it may not meet the needs of every profession or licensing board. However, I sincerely hope it has made CEU management easier, less stressful, and more organized for the majority of our members.
With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to share some interesting facts and statistics about the professionals who use CEU Tracker.org today.
Who Uses CEU Tracker?
Our members represent 43 different professions. To better understand our user community, we grouped these professions into 16 profession families.
For example, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology were grouped together under the broader Mental Health Practitioner profession family.

As mentioned in our "Our Story" article, I originally created CEU Tracker to manage my own Mental Health Counseling licenses. Because of that, I assumed Mental Health Practitioners would make up the largest segment of our membership.
I was wrong.
Nursing professionals account for the largest share of our members at 32%, while Mental Health Practitioners and Social Work professionals are tied for second place at 18% each.
It's exciting to see professionals from so many different fields finding value in the platform.
Where Are Our Members Licensed?
I was also curious about the geographic distribution of our members' licenses.
The states with the highest concentration of licenses are:
California : 14%, Texas : 9%, Florida : 7%

As someone who lives in New York, it's incredibly rewarding to see CEU Tracker being used by professionals across the country. What started as a local solution to a personal problem has grown into a tool serving professionals from coast to coast.
CEU Data and Certificate Storage
Today, our public provider database contains more than 400 CEU providers, making it easier for members to find and select providers when recording their coursework.
Even more encouraging, approximately 80% of all CEUs entered into CEU Tracker have certificate files uploaded and attached to them. This tells us that members are taking advantage of the secure cloud storage capabilities to maintain complete, audit-ready records. One of the most valuable features of CEU Tracker.org is the ability to securely store CEU certificate files alongside your CEU records, making documentation easier to organize, access, and verify when needed.
Managing Multiple Licenses
Perhaps the most interesting statistic is that 66% of our members hold more than one license, whether across multiple states, multiple professions, or both.
While CEU Tracker.org can certainly help professionals with a single license, its greatest value often comes when managing multiple licenses. Tracking CEUs across several credentials can quickly become complicated, requiring you to determine which courses apply to which licenses, monitor different renewal cycles, and maintain separate records.
By automating much of that process, CEU Tracker helps reduce the complexity, duplicate work, and headaches that often come with managing multiple licenses.
Thank You
It's been incredibly rewarding to watch a tool originally created for my own CEU tracking needs evolve into a resource used by professionals across many professions and states.
Whether you've been with us since the early days or joined just recently, thank you for being part of the CEU Tracker.org journey. Your feedback, suggestions, and support have played a significant role in shaping the platform into what it is today.
We're excited about what lies ahead and remain committed to making CEU Tracker.org the simplest, most reliable way to manage your continuing education requirements.
Here's to the next thousand members, and to making CEU tracking a little easier for everyone. Cheers!
Profession-related questions are among our most common support requests, often asking us to add missing options. To clarify, we’d like to explain what “profession” means in CEU Tracker and how it’s intended to be used.
Excel spreadsheet is powerful tool, but they weren’t built for tracking CEU requirements. That’s why so many professionals are switching to CEU Tracker - a smarter, simpler way to manage licenses, CEU requirements, and certificates files!
